Systemizing Your Business

“Planning is always an ongoing activity for every business owner or manager. No matter the stage of the business or the place in the cycle of growth or decline, planning must always be ongoing and underway.

But we know this already. “Fail to plan, plan to fail.”

Outcome Based Comprehensive Planning (OBCP)

Outcome-Based Comprehensive Planning is a process that begins with business outcomes and works backward from these outcomes to properly identify action items and then targets the resources that will be needed. This form of backward planning is a business-driven methodology designed to ensure your success in seeing tangible results in many scenarios.

Fully Independent

This question “SHOULD I?” is always the first and last part of the beginning. How do you know if you should do this or that, move to the left or the right, add this product line or new methodology? You are the boss, the person who sees the strengths and weaknesses of the company, yet the question persists.

Why are you even thinking about this change?

How is your business like an elephant?

One sunny afternoon a father and son were driving down the road. They passed a car dealership and the son spotted a large elephant standing perfectly still in front of the car lot.

“Daddy, can we go see the elephant?”

The father pulled over into the dealership and together, father and son, approached the elephant.

The elephant was standing there with a rope loosely placed around his neck and on the other end, the rope was tied to a small wooden stake in the ground.

“How come the elephant doesn’t just walk away? After all he’s really big and that stake is so small?” the boy asked his Father.

His father thought for a moment and responded,

“Because he doesn’t know that he can.”

You are the leader of your business! Are you like this elephant? Do you want to move and grow, but find yourself held back by resources, financing, and other things within your control? Do you feel like you’re tied down by low productivity, lack of systemization?
